Vibratory Plates

Granular soils, gravels, and hot asphalt mixes are loosely packed and hence it requires compaction. Compaction can be done in 4 methods

1. Impact
2. Vibration
3. Pressure
4. Kneading

This compaction by vibration is provided by tandem vibratory roller if it is a larger area, for small areas vibratory plates are used. By this vibratory action, the voids gets filled and hence high density is achieved.
